*** Internet Nebraska Broadband ***

We at Internet Nebraska are in our twelfth year of providing high-speed
connectivity to businesses and individuals across the state. If you're
finding your Web pages come too slowly, or maybe you're considering some
exciting new activity on the 'Net that will require faster access, we're
ready to help. We offer LOTS of broadband, and here are a few of the
kinds. With any of these faster access plans you get at least five free
e-mail addresses (excluding IN Speed Dial), a free personal Web site,
unlimited toll-free tech support, and free access to our hotspot network
(including access at the Lincoln Airport) for when you're on the go.

DSL
---
We offer DSL everywhere in Alltel or Qwest territories where the phone
company facilities make it possible. From a very affordable 256 kbps
download all the way to 3.0 Mbps and beyond, our DSL is competitively
priced and always offered at an introductory $9.95/month to new customers,
and to existing customers upgrading from dial-up. If you need static
addresses or other special features, we can do that, too. For more
information on our DSL, see http://www.inebraska.com/dsl/ .

Cable
-----
We also offer cable Internet access to individuals anywhere in the
Time-Warner Nebraska service area. Our introductory rate is only
$29.95/month, and our regular rate is great, too! For more information on
our cable Internet access, see http://www.inebraska.com/cable/ .

Wireless
--------
If you live in or near Valentine, O'Neill, Tilden, or Norfolk, we can offer
you wireless Internet access. We even have available a free basic
installation package with no equipment to buy! Take a look at
http://www.inebraska.com/wireless/ for a high-speed solution where DSL and
cable may not be available.

TLS / T1s / DS3s / Server Colocation / Web Site Hosting
--------------------------------------------------------
If your business needs a more direct, "broaderband" connection to the
Internet, we offer it. Our customer base includes health care
organizations, libraries, phone companies, and manufacturing plants across
the state. If you'd like to visit about what we can do for you, give us a
call at 434-8680 in Lincoln, or 800-438-4638 anywhere else. For
information on our standard Web hosting packages, see
http://www.inebraska.com/webhostpricing.html .

Dial-Up Acceleration
--------------------
Perhaps none of these ways to increase your speed looks right for you,
and dial-up is how you expect to continue connecting. For only $2/month,
our Internet Nebraska Speed Dial can make a great difference in how
quickly you surf the 'Net. It's easy to install, too. See
http://www.inebraska.com/speeddial/ for details.

We're proud of these services, but what makes us feel best is taking
friendly, reliable care of the other folks in our state. We're locally
owned and operated, so our business relationships are special to us.

*** Internet Nebraska System Administrators' Favorite Sites ***

We asked the people who keep the systems at IN running for their
favorite non-computer Internet sites. After reminding them this is a
family-friendly newsletter, they came back with the following gems:

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb)
http://www.imdb.com/

Steve says, "The ultimate Internet movie resource. Actors, reviews,
plots, movie quotes -- it's got it all. Best of all, it's fast,
well-organized, and the ads are kept to a minimum."

CNN
http://www.cnn.com/

Ben often reads CNN because keeping up with current events makes him
feel better about himself. CNN has recently made their video reports
free, so you can watch the news online now, not just read it! Their
sports section is done by Sports Illustrated, so you get quite a wealth
of sporting news as well.

PhysOrg
http://www.physorg.com

Brian does his best to keep abreast of advances in science, and PhysOrg
helps him do just that. Covering important research into electronics,
general science, nanotech, physics, space and earth science and others,
the site distills news into easy-to-digest chunks.

All Recipes
http://allrecipes.com/

Steve says, "Hard to argue with more than 30,000 free recipes,
searchable or viewable by category. Recipes are ranked by the users,
so if you stick with highly-rated recipes, nobody at the table will be
able to complain. It even lets you print on recipe cards."

Weather Underground
http://www.weatherunderground.com/

This is Ben's preferred site for getting current weather conditions as
well as the forecast. You can even look at the current conditions for
certain areas of town by looking at data from personal weather
stations. And you can browse through countless pictures uploaded by
other users of Weather Underground, or even upload your own.

Tree Hugger
http://www.treehugger.com

Brian does his best to be environmentally friendly, and Tree Hugger
often points him in the direction of new and exciting "Green"
technologies, products and news.

eBay
http://www.ebay.com/

Why asked why he likes eBay, Steve just sang the jingle from the TV
commercial. He apparently thinks no other explanation is needed.

Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/

Ben says he has spent "in the hundreds" of hours reading through
various articles on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is "The Free Encyclopedia,"
written by users around the world. Anyone can create an account, log
in, and create or edit entries. You can search for a specific article,
or you can click "Random article" from the navigation menu and be
whisked to an entry covering a topic you may never have heard of.

Google Services and Tools
http://www.google.com/intl/en/options

We know that Google has become a household word over the last few years,
but not many people really take full advantage of Google's extra features.
Check out some of Google's tools today... you might just find something
to pique your interest!

*** Mr Internet ***

Q: My computer came with antivirus software, but it was only a trial
version. The subscription has expired, but I don't really want to
fork over any more money than necessary. Do I really have to pay
   for my antivirus?

A: You're in luck, as I have an excellent alternative for you. AVG
Antivirus is available at no charge for home users. The software
is a free download, and it works just like other popular antivirus
packages. You can get daily updates without having to pay a cent.
AVG is also easier on your computer's resources, and doesn't slow
down a computer as some of the others do.

AVG can be obtained by clicking this link:
   http://www.inebraska.com/software/utils/avg70free_289a392.exe

Other Antivirus and Anti-spyware utilities can also be found at:
   http://www.inebraska.com/software/utils/

Mr. Internet is a regular feature of the INews, and he welcomes questions
of any kind. Just mail them to mrinternet@inebraska.com, and he'll answer
one or two each issue. Those he doesn't use will not necessarily be
answered, and you should still use 'manager' and 'accounts' for regular
business.
