What is Wireless Internet?
Wireless Internet, is the newest, fastest, and most convenient Internet access
available for home users and businesses. Wireless Internet connects
through the airwaves to our Internet backbone. With Wireless Internet,
there's no need for a second phone line or a cable connection.
How fast is Wireless Internet?
We currently offer two wireless speeds -- 256kpbs and 768kpbs. Combined with lower latency
and an all-digital path, wireless provides throughput up to 25 times faster
than a 28.8kbps modem.
Wireless Internet is connected constantly, so you never have to
wait for your computer to make a connection, saving you even more
time.

receive Wireless Internet service. Distance and terrain limitations
can make Wireless Internet unworkable for some locations. Internet
Nebraska will arrange a site survey after your order is placed, to
help determine if you can receive Wireless Internet.
What are the computer requirements for Wireless Internet?
Almost any computer will be able to use the Internet Nebraska Wireless
Internet access. All you need is an ethernet card in your computer.
Nearly any computer built in the past five years will have one
already. If not, you should be able to get one from any computer
hardware store.
How much does Wireless Internet cost?
There are several different components that make up the total cost
of Wireless Internet: the initial installation fee, the hardware,
and the Internet service. Please refer to the Wireless Pricing Guide for Internet Nebraska's monthly rates.
Initial Installation
There is no start-up charge from Internet Nebraska*. Installation
is done and charged for by a local installer. See the Wireless
Pricing Guide for more information.
Hardware
You will need to have a piece of equipment to send and receive the wireless signal, generally referred to as a wireless bridge. This will connect to an antenna which will mount on your roof or an exterior wall of your home. The antenna will point to our transmitting tower, and this is how the connection is established.
The types of equipment used can change, but currently we use the Senao CB3+, which is an all-in-one package; the wireless bridge is mounted inside the antenna. This results in a faster installation time: just mount the bridge on the roof and run an ethernet cable inside the home.
